The SaintS Scenario paintball team is proud to announce that we will be calling Paintball Explosion our home field for the 2012 paintball season.  Both Romeo and TJ have  many great things in store for his field, and we are thrilled to be in on the ground level.

We look forward to working together with our fellow home teams in helping Paintball Explosion achieve their vision of becoming the finest and most cutting edge paintball facility in the Chicagoland area.

We look forward to getting out there and making a better paintball home for us all.  Here is to Paintball Explosion in 2012!

Our own Eric Zidarich has decided to give up his luscious locks to help fight children’s cancer.  Downers Grove South Highschool, where Eric is a student, has teamed up with The St Baldrick’s Foundation for this worthy cause.  Between now and March 16th, 2012 Eric has pledged to raise $500 for this charity.

Eric explains why he’s willing to give up his mane:

…I’m having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.

Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

So when I ask for your support, I’m really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!

How can you help?  Head over to Eric’s Shavee page at St. Baldrick’s site and click “Make a Donation“.  Then, tell your friends.  Share it on Facebook, Tweet about it, do whatever it is that Google+ does.

We’ll keep you updated as Eric progresses toward (and, with the help of the paintball community, surpasses) his goal.  Shortly after March 16th, 2012 we’ll have pictures of our newly sheared Saint.

A contingent of The SaintS made it out to Paintball Explosion yesterday for a great day of open play.  It was a great feeling to finally be get out and play after the our long break for the holidays.  We’re looking forward to many more events this year.  Stay tuned for more info about when and we’re we’ll be playing this season.

Oh, and check out this video of our CO, RyanO, and Meat taking a tumble during the opening run of our first round of the day:

METRO VANCOUVER – A 48-year-old man has been arrested after police came under fire from a paintball gun in Maple Ridge last night.

The altercation began just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday night during a standoff between a pair of neighbours at a home on 124 Avenue. The suspect had gone into his neighbour’s home and was threatening the homeowner, said Ridge Meadows RCMP Staff Sgt. Hector Lee, in a release, noting that they were known to each other.

By the time police arrived, the suspect had left.

The suspect eventually returned to his own home, trailed by police, Lee said. When officers approached, the suspect shot several paintballs forcing the officers to take cover.

After dodging the colourful attack, the officers were able to get at the man and arrested him, Lee said.

“Our officers had great presence of mind in this case,” Lee said. “The sounds of a paintball gun, and paintballs hitting is far different than real guns, or bullets. They recognized that fact, made sure of their safety, and then made their approach and arrest. I’m happy to report that no one was injured in this incident, and police have seized the paintball gun, and other weapons.”

The suspect is in police custody and makes his first court appearance today. RCMP have recommend charges including several weapons offences, breaking and entering and uttering threats.

The Badlandz is hosting another big game over the Thanksgiving Day weekend.  Produced by Mark Montoya of Casket Co, this event will pit the Allies against the Axis powers in a revisit of Operation Market Garden.  Will the Allies rewrite history and make it home by Christmas or will the Axis once again repel the Allied advance?  Join in on the discussion over at PBNation.
