The Badlandz is hosting another big game over the Thanksgiving Day weekend.  Produced by Mark Montoya of Casket Co, this event will pit the Allies against the Axis powers in a revisit of Operation Market Garden.  Will the Allies rewrite history and make it home by Christmas or will the Axis once again repel the Allied advance?  Join in on the discussion over at PBNation.

Over the weekend of July 16th and 17th The Terminators, led by Chef of The Brotherhood, and the Human Resistance, led by Brainsaw of Casket Co, met for one final time at The Badlandz.

The Resistance came out strong on Day 1 and managed to hold off most of the Terminators attempts to assault over the open grass plain between The Terminator base and the Center Fort.  Lead by two T-800s, a combined force The SaintS and The Brotherhood pushed The Resistance off of Center Fort late mid morning.  However, The Resistance inflicted many losses on The Terminators before falling back and were able to quickly counterattack and regain the position.  The first mid-day ceasefire was reached shortly thereafter.

Fighting resumed between the two factions again in the afternoon.  Again, The Resistance held off most of The Terminators advances.  The Resistance managed to take SkyNet offline by mid-afternoon.  Fearing further insurgence against their main base, The Terminators started a sweeping action to ensure their flanks were secure of immediate threat.  Little did they know The Resistance was already poised for a major direct assault on The Terminator base.  By starting their sweeping action, The Terminators forced The Resistance to strike.  The Terminator defense forces where quickly overwhelmed and, for all intents and purposes, were overrun.

The Terminators regrouped and started a push up a local creek bed on the far edge of the engagement zone.  Although they met with Resistance defenders in prepared positions, The Terminators were able to cross the creek, make their way up the hills behind the Center Fort, and again reclaim the structure.  Shortly after this effort the evening ceasefire was reached.

Incapable of feeling low morale, the Terminators spent the night analyzing the day’s engagements and adapted on Day 2.

Five of  The SaintS were retrofitted into semi-invincible configurations.  The T-1000 helped forces hold the Center Fort, a major choke point on The Badlandz field, while two T-800s and two TODs (Terminator Ordinance Drones, capable of destroying a base simply by walking into it) lead forces on a long flanking maneuver along the right side of the engagement.  Killing many humans along the way, these forces came within striking distance of The Resistance base.  Inexplicably, the strike force was given orders to not destroy the base.

With the unquestioning discipline only machines can have, the strike force fell back and tried to form a pocket around the Resistance base.  Seizing the moment, The Resistance struck swiftly and pushed Terminator forces back to their own deployment zone.  The Terminators held the line until a 2nd mid-day ceasefire was reached.

When fighting resumed on the afternoon of Day 2 it was learned the Terminators taken 4 prisoners with intentions of converting them to Human/Terminator Hybrids.  In a valiant attempt to save their friends, The Resistance  assaulted the Terminator base en masse.  However, their best efforts would not be enough and all prisoners were successfully converted.

Out of desperation, The Resistance decided their only hope of survival would be to nuke the Terminator base.  Ironically, yet logically, the Terminators also opted to carry out a mission to nuke The Resistance base.  Both bases took heavy damage, however, in the end, no humans were spared.

The Terminators now rule Earth.

All dramatics aside, The SaintS had a blast at this game.  I may have the order of specific event wrong, but each one did take place.  If something needs fixed, leave us a comment and we’ll post a correction.

Our thanks to Rock N Roll Death Patrol, Fringe Division, and Casket Co for leading The Resistance in one of the hardest fights we’ve had in a long time.  It was close in the end, and we like ‘em that way.  Tip of the hat to The Brotherhood and S.P.E.A.R. who fought by our side as fellow Terminators.  Great teamwork, as usual guys!  Thanks to Mark of Casket Co for putting in the time and energy to produce these games.  Without you, they wouldn’t exist, sir.  Finally, a huge thanks to the unincorporated (e.g. “walk-on”) players.  You’re what keeps this sport growing.

See you all at the next one!

Blatantly stolen from The Badlandz’s big game site:

Every one of you knows the story of Judgment Day and the Hell-on-Earth that followed it. Since the day our world went away, Skynet and those abominations, the Terminators, have relentlessly pursued and hunted us to near extinction.

Now they have something new; a brand new variety of monster to track us down and complete the genocide of the human race begun so long ago. We have evidence of a more human breed of terminator. These new Terminators, the Terminator-Human Hybrid or “TH-1’s”, are regular flesh and blood humans. After being captured by Skynet, they have literally been “reprogrammed”. Skynet has surgically implanted a microprocessor within the cerebral cortex of these TH-1s.  This forces these new Terminators to kill any non-modified human on sight by any means necessary.

Anyone Skynet captures is taken to a processing facility where they are transformed into these new TH-1’s. Unfortunately, de-processing these people is not an option. We’ve tried to reverse the reprogramming to no avail; a failsafe detonates the microprocessor if any tampering is attempted.

You may know these people, you may love these people. And, even though they may know and love you, they WILL have no choice but to kill you on sight.

DO NOT GIVE SKYNET VICTORY BY ALLOWING OUR LOVED ONES TO KILL US! Humanity must survive.

Be wary of anybody you encounter outside of anyone you know. The new TH-1’s have been let loose to infiltrate and kill us. And, as usual, constantly be on the lookout for the old, familiar T-models. They still walk the land hunting; looking to kill us all.

This is all for now. We are still alive, we are still fighting, and we WILL NOT go quietly into the night.

This is John Connors.

If you’re reading this, you are the resistance.
